New Allegry care with Bax 3000

Started a new program for the boys (and me too) that will help alleviate some of their allergies to foods and other substances.  Using cold laser technology they reprogram the body's response to the allergen so it doesn't cause problems again. Its new, but loving the idea and that they've got proven results from the FDA-approved machine.

Now this won't mean I'll let the boys have unlimited amounts of the offending foods, but at least the indiscretions won't cause such trouble.

I'm really excited!!!!!

Happy Thanksgiving

Today's the day to TRY to keep the kids off gluten even when I didn't prepare any of it. Ought to be frought with challenges. I did find a wheat-free nut based pie crust recipe from my cookbook Baking with Agave Nectar. Smelled great and taste great but cooked too quickly and I didn't get it covered before burning.  Well the bottom should be good and the whole pie is family friendly.  Yeah, pumpkin pie for the little one!

Hope everyone enjoys their day, gets a nap in after all the Tryptophan and comes back tomorrow ready for left overs.  Maybe by then I'll have these pumpkin scones I found read for breakfast:

Enjoy your day!

dairy free tomato soup

The weather is crummy outside but the home fires are burning. Literally! We have the fireplace burning nice and toasty , I'll bet its 75 degrees in this room. Doesn't make me want tomato soup any less. I was thinking yesterday how much I miss tomato soup and grilled cheese sandwiches. I have my tomato plants hanging in the garage - who knew they would continue to ripen on the vine? So now I'm on the hunt for a great dairy free tomato soup recipe. And with the help of the internet I found a couple to consider:

I like the thoughts of one because the tomatoes are roasted. That should provide a depth in taste:

We'll see waht I end up making, I'll keep you posted.

new developments and food

Oldest's gluten intollerance was confirmed with the latest tests. Can it get any better? He's NOT happy! Trying my hand at menu planning to see if it will feel less overwhelming. We'll see...

Some gluten free things I've been serving:

  • Quinoa Breakfast Brownies - Elana's Pantry is great - these are a new family favorite!

  • Qunioa Stuffed peppers - the boys wouldn't touch these but hubby & I liked them.

  • Beef & pork roasts

  • Build Your Own Tacos - have a recipe for tortillas, again without flour but taste just like them. They are usually gone in one meal. I'll have to post the recipe when I have time.

  • Pizza - this is new and from a recipe at Gluten-Free Pizza Crust Recipe - its great! Took the dough to a local pizza place and they used it for us. That was great! Nice to have a recipe that doesn't contain rice flour so little one can have it.

Well TTFN, gotta get some other stuff done.
